Checkpoint 5 stands between you and almost all of Terminal 2’s food. Concourse E has restaurants and counters from Gate E1 to Gate E11, and Concourse F has them from Gate F3 to Gate F19. Find your gate letter first, then pick from the tables below. Before security, there’s one bar, Sports Edition Bar.

Restaurants and bars run from Gate E1 to Gate F15

Summer House Santa Monica, Stanley’s, La Tapenade and Chili’s are all listed for breakfast and open by 5:30 a.m., so they’re the restaurants to aim for on an early flight. Connect Bar closes at 7:30 p.m., earlier than the other bars. Sports Edition Bar is outside security, so reaching it from a gate means clearing Checkpoint 5 again.

The airport’s map gives no menus or prices.

The sushi bar opens after every other food place past security

Wicker Park Sushi Bar at Gate E1 is the only Terminal 2 listing for sushi. Its hours start later than any other food place past the checkpoint, so it’s no help on an early flight. CIBO Express Gourmet Market at the same gate opens five hours earlier, so it’s the stop before the sushi bar opens.

Quick counters and coffee, in gate order

Concourse E has both of Terminal 2’s Starbucks counters, and Concourse F has none.

The Starbucks at Gate E2 is the only counter that covers both ends of the day

Checkpoint 5 opens at 3:15 a.m. and closes at 11 p.m., according to the airport’s checkpoint hours. Past it, the E2 Starbucks is the only restaurant, counter or shop listed open when the checkpoint opens, and the only restaurant or counter listed open after 10 p.m. Our before 6 a.m. guide and late night guide cover the whole airport at those hours.

Past Gates E11 and F19 the food stops

Concourse E runs to Gate E17 and Concourse F to Gate F28. Past F19 there’s a vending machine near Gate F20 and the Hudson at Gate F28, open 6 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and selling snacks, beverages and reading materials. If your gate’s out there, buy before you walk.

Vending machines are listed, and some have no hours

The directory names Terminal 2’s vending machines separately from its restaurants, which matters most when the counters are shut. It doesn’t say which side of security each one is on.

With more time, or a specific craving

For a single craving, the pizza guide, hot dog guide, coffee guide and bars guide set Terminal 2 beside the other terminals.
