Uber and Lyft at O'Hare

Uber and Lyft pick up on the upper level at Terminal 2 (poles 2A to 2G) and Terminal 3 (3G, 3H, 3J, 3K). From Terminal 1 or 5, ride the free train first.

The airport names Uber and Lyft pickup poles at Terminal 2 and Terminal 3, both on the upper level. If you landed in Terminal 1 or Terminal 5, the airport names no regular pickup zone for you, so ride the free Airport Transit System to Terminal 2 or 3 first. Wheelchair accessible vehicles and black cars are the exception: they load on the lower level of every terminal.

Which pole is yours?

Your driver names the pole, and the airport tells riders to wait in the pickup zone for your terminal until the driver arrives.

Terminal Pickup zone Where to wait
Terminal 2 Upper level, orange signs marked 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, 2E, 2F and 2G An indoor waiting area sits between vestibules 2A and 2D
Terminal 3 Upper level, green signs marked 3G, 3H, 3J and 3K No indoor area is listed
Terminals 1 and 5 None named for regular rides Ride the train to Terminal 2 or 3

Getting to a pole from Terminal 1 or Terminal 5

The Airport Transit System runs 24 hours a day and stops at Terminals 1, 2, 3 and 5. Trains come every 3 to 5 minutes at peak. The whole run from Terminal 1 to the Multi-Modal Facility takes about 10 minutes, so a hop between terminals is shorter than that. The upper level is the departures roadway.

If the train detour doesn’t suit you, taxi stands sit at the lower-level curb outside baggage claim at every terminal. The airport puts the average taxi fare to downtown at $50, and our taxi page lists the meter rates.

Wheelchair rides and the Multi-Modal Facility use other spots

Request a wheelchair accessible vehicle in the app, through Access Mode on Lyft or UberWAV on Uber. Beyond the terminals, it loads at the Multi-Modal Facility, where the rental cars and Economy Lot F sit. Rideshare pickup there happens only at the Kiss ‘n’ Fly, through Door 6.

Heading to the airport instead

The airport’s drop-off page sends departing passengers to the curb front of the terminal where their airline is located, following the Departures signs to the upper-level roadway. Our airlines page lists which terminal each airline uses. Lyft’s O’Hare page says you can schedule a ride to the airport up to 90 days ahead.
