Assistance inside the airport

Between the gate and the curb, Chicago O'Hare International Airport publishes:

  • Wheelchair assistance: From the curb to the ticket counters and the gates, in all four terminals. Provided by the airlines, so arrange it with the airline before travelling. Airline staff are in the ticketing areas of Terminals 1, 2 and 3, and some work curbside; in Terminal 5 go to your airline's own counter. The airport's accessibility coordinator is on (773) 894-3728, Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central time. For screening help, TSA Cares is on (855) 787-2227, best called 72 hours ahead.
  • Self service repair stations: Baggage claim in all four terminals, near the information desks. For quick repairs to luggage, equipment or assistive devices. Each has an air compressor rated to 130 PSI, a tool kit, a wheelchair charging unit and a padded bench.
  • Companion Plus Restroom: Terminal 2, across from the Family Lounge. A private accessible room for travellers who need help from a companion. It has a powered ceiling lift to an adult sized changing table rated to 330 pounds, two showers, one roll in and one with a transfer seat, an accessible toilet and sink, grab bars, an automatic door and two emergency pull cords to the airport communication centre.
