Cathay Pacific, EVA Air, Korean Air and Philippine Airlines check in on the Departures and Check-In level of Terminal 5. From Terminals 1, 2 and 3 you get there by train, or by bus if you’re connecting, because Terminal 5 has no walk to the others on the secure side.

Which lounge names each airline

Airline Lounge that names it
Cathay Pacific None
EVA Air Wingtips Lounge, as EVA AIR
Korean Air None
Philippine Airlines None

The airport’s airline directory gives Cathay Pacific, EVA Air and Korean Air a terminal but no flights, and it has no Philippine Airlines entry. The airport’s terminal map puts a Philippine Airlines check-in in Terminal 5. Your airline has the last word on flights. Every other airline’s terminal is in our A to Z airline guide.

Reaching Terminal 5 from the other terminals

Where you are Your way to Terminal 5
In Terminal 1, 2 or 3 and not yet through security The Airport Transit System, then Checkpoint 10
Through security in Terminal 1 or 3, connecting to a same-day Terminal 5 flight, between 11:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. The Terminal Transfer Bus from Gate C18B in Terminal 1 or Gates G17 and K20 in Terminal 3
Through security in Terminal 2, in the same hours Walk to Terminal 1 or 3 on the secure side, then take the bus
Through security in Terminal 1, 2 or 3, outside those hours Leave security, ride the Airport Transit System and be screened again at Terminal 5

The train is free and runs 24 hours a day, with a station at each terminal. It comes every 3 to 5 minutes at peak times, and end to end from Terminal 1 it takes about 10 minutes. The bus is free too and leaves every 15 minutes. It takes connecting passengers only, with a boarding pass for the Terminal 5 flight. Its Terminal 5 stop is Gate M13.

Checkpoint 10 is Terminal 5’s only checkpoint and is open 24 hours. Its TSA PreCheck and CLEAR lanes have shorter hours. PreCheck runs 3:45 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., and CLEAR runs 4:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sunday to Friday, ending at 7 p.m. on Saturday. If the train isn’t running, see our guide on what to do when the terminal train is down. Our terminal train guide covers the train, and our Terminal Transfer Bus guide covers who can ride the bus and when.

Lounges for these four airlines

Of the four, only EVA Air is named for a lounge, the Wingtips Lounge near Gate M19. It is open daily 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Besides the airlines it names, it takes SkyTeam Elite Plus members and Priority Pass members.

Priority Pass lists the Swissport Lounge as permanently closed. Priority Pass members get into the Wingtips Lounge up to 3 hours before departure, and into the Air France Lounge near Gate M17 except from noon to 5 p.m. That gives a card holder on any of the four a place to try. The airport’s page also says travelers without a membership “may also purchase day passes for most of the clubs.” It names no club and no price. Our lounge access guide has the prices that lounges do print.

If you’re landing

The airport’s International Traveler page puts customs for international arrivals at Terminal 5 and doesn’t say which airlines land there. The same page says arrivals from preclearance airports can take the bus to a flight in Terminals 1, 2 or 3 without being screened again, but the bus page lists stops only at Terminals 1, 3 and 5. For a Terminal 2 gate, ride to Terminal 1 or 3 and walk the secure side. Other arrivals clear TSA screening at Terminal 5 before the bus, or at the terminal they ride the train to. Our Terminal 5 arrivals guide walks the customs steps in order.
