# The USO at O'Hare: where it is and who can use it

Mezzanine, Terminal 2

O’Hare has two USO centers where active military personnel and their dependents can relax, get a snack, check email and phone home. One is in [Terminal 2](https://ordairportguide.com/terminals/terminal-2/) before security and one is in [Terminal 3](https://ordairportguide.com/terminals/terminal-3/) after it.

## Terminal 2’s center is before security and Terminal 3’s is after it

| Center | Where | Security | Hours | Phone |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Terminal 2 | Mezzanine level, next to the Chapel above the Alaska Airlines and JetBlue ticket counters | Before | 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. | (773) 686-7396 |
| Terminal 3 | Mezzanine level of the Rotunda, by Concourse G | After | 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. | (773) 601-9500 |

The Terminal 3 center is on the same Rotunda mezzanine as the Yoga Room. Our [Terminal 3 guide](https://ordairportguide.com/guides/terminal-3-at-ohare-concourses-g-h-k-l-rotunda/) covers the Rotunda and its checkpoints, and the [Terminal 2 guide](https://ordairportguide.com/guides/terminal-2-at-ohare-concourses-e-f-family-lounge-chapel/) places the Terminal 2 center against its single checkpoint.

Terminals 1 and 5 have no center. Terminals 1, 2 and 3 connect on foot after security, so a traveler already screened in Terminal 1 or 2 can walk to the Terminal 3 center. Terminal 5 has no walkway to the others, and our [walking guide](https://ordairportguide.com/guides/can-you-walk-between-ohare-terminals-after-security/) covers who can use the train and the bus instead.

## Who can use the USO centers?

The airport’s USO page describes the centers as a place for “men, women and dependents of the Armed Forces.” The airport’s map text says [the centers serve active military personnel and their dependents](https://ordairportguide.com/amenities/uso/).

The page doesn’t mention veterans or say whether to bring ID, so ask when you call the center.

## What’s inside, and what the airport leaves unclear

The airport’s amenity list for the centers is free refreshments, internet access, a TV lounge area, gaming and free reading materials. It also lists flight information, travel and lodging information and referrals. The airport’s services page says the USO locations “provide programs, services, care and comfort to troops and their families.”

The page marks the quiet room as Terminal 2’s. It lists a children’s room without saying which center has it. The airport’s terminal map lists a children’s room for both centers and names no quiet room. If you’re counting on either room, call the center first.

For children, the [Family Lounge](https://ordairportguide.com/guides/family-lounge-at-ohare-terminal-2/) is a separate play space in Terminal 2, past the checkpoint. If you need a calm room that isn’t the USO’s, [quiet places without a lounge](https://ordairportguide.com/guides/quiet-places-at-ohare-without-lounge/) lists what the airport offers everyone.

## Call before you go, because volunteers set the hours

The airport’s note reads: “Center hours are subject to change based on volunteer availability.” The page lists no other way to check, so the phone numbers in the table are your only confirmation.
