Concourse M, Terminal 5

[Find your airline](https://ordairportguide.com/airlines/): Concourse, check-in counters, bag claim and where to park, for every airline here.

[Terminal 5](https://ordairportguide.com/terminals/terminal-5/) is where international flights that clear customs at O’Hare arrive. Its one concourse, M, runs from Gate M1 to M40 behind Checkpoint 10, the only checkpoint listed open 24 hours. A six-story garage joins the terminal by an enclosed pedestrian bridge. No walkway joins Terminal 5 to the other terminals on the secure side, and the secure Terminal Transfer Bus covers only part of the day.

## Checkpoint 10

Checkpoint 10 serves all of Concourse M.

| Lane | Hours |
| --- | --- |
| Checkpoint | Open 24 hours |
| TSA PreCheck | 3:45 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. |
| CLEAR Plus | Sunday to Friday 4:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturday 4:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. |

CLEAR also enrolls travelers in TSA PreCheck on the Departures level near the checkpoint entrance, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Our [security page](https://ordairportguide.com/security/) lists the other terminals’ checkpoints, and our [checkpoint guide](https://ordairportguide.com/guides/which-security-checkpoint-should-you-use-at-ohare/) covers the lanes.

The airport’s banking page lists currency exchange counters on the lower level from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the upper level from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., with no gate given. The airport’s map shows a counter at baggage claim, before security, open 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and another at Gate M14, past security, open 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Neither source says whether the banking page’s counters are the map’s, so treat all four as separate listings.

### Dufry and the other shops

All of these are past Checkpoint 10.

Two ATMs are in baggage claim and three on the Departures and Check-In level. Our [ATM listing](https://ordairportguide.com/amenities/atms/) covers the rest of the airport.

## The lounges

Concourse M has four open lounges, and the airport’s lounge page and its map place one of them, the Delta Sky Club, at different gates.

| Lounge | Where | Hours |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Delta Sky Club | Gate M13 on the airport’s lounge page, between Gates M11 and M14 on its map | Sunday to Friday 4:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday 4:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. |

| LOT Business Lounge | Near Gate M18 | No hours published |
| Wingtips Lounge | Near Gate M19 | Daily 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. |

Priority Pass lists the Swissport Lounge as permanently closed. The [Terminal 5 lounge guide](https://ordairportguide.com/guides/lounges-terminal-5-at-ohare-delta-air-france-lot/) and [Swissport and Wingtips guide](https://ordairportguide.com/guides/swissport-wingtips-lounges-at-ohare-who-can-use-them/) cover who gets in at the open lounges.

## Arriving from abroad: customs

You leave the gate, follow the sterile corridors to the CBP processing area and clear primary inspection first. You then claim your bags and go to agriculture screening, which the airport says applies even if your bags were checked through. The airport says it’s rare for the immigration and CBP process to take more than two hours.

Passengers who preclear CBP in their departure city skip this process. The airport says that includes several destinations in Canada and Ireland, and those passengers may go straight to the domestic baggage claim in Terminal 5. Others arriving from preclearance destinations may land in Terminals 1, 2 or 3.

If you’re connecting with bags checked through to your final destination, drop them at the airline recheck counters directly outside the CBP processing area. United and American connecting passengers who aren’t checked through can recheck right after CBP. On other airlines, you carry your bags out and recheck with the airline before the domestic flight.

The Arrivals and Baggage Claim level also holds:

- The international baggage claim and oversize baggage.
- The Delta baggage office.
- A United recheck desk.

Our [international arrival guide](https://ordairportguide.com/guides/arriving-at-ohare-terminal-5-from-abroad-customs-baggage/) walks the steps in order.

## Leaving for Chicago after customs

Passengers whose final destination is Chicago can leave the airport once they clear customs. [Taxis](https://ordairportguide.com/transport/taxi/) wait at the marked rank on the lower-level curb outside baggage claim. A suburban taxi you booked by phone collects from the inner commercial lane.

Hotel and off-airport parking shuttles collect at the Terminal 2 Arrivals curb, and some also serve Terminal 5, so check with the operator. The free [Airport Transit System](https://ordairportguide.com/transport/airport-transit-system/) runs to the airport parking lots and, for the [Blue Line](https://ordairportguide.com/transport/cta-blue-line/), to Terminal 2 or 3.

## Meeting someone who has landed

Drivers collect at the outermost curb on the lower Arrivals level. Waiting at the curb isn’t allowed, and unattended cars are ticketed and towed. Wait in the free [cell phone lot](https://ordairportguide.com/parking/cell-phone-lot/) at 560 North Bessie Coleman Drive until your passenger has their bags and calls. From Terminal 5, head north on Bessie Coleman Drive for 0.3 miles, then turn right.

## The garage and Lot D

The [Terminal 5 Parking Garage](https://ordairportguide.com/parking/terminal-5-garage/) holds about 1,700 spaces, and its parking-assist technology shows which ones are free. It clears 8 feet 6 inches, and Lot D alongside it is outdoors with no height limit. Rates include all taxes, and you pay the cashier on the way out by cash or card.

| Stay | Rate |
| --- | --- |
| Up to 1 hour | $3 |
| 1 to 2 hours | $6 |
| 2 to 3 hours | $10 |
| 3 to 4 hours | $14 |
| 4 to 8 hours | $36 |
| 8 to 24 hours | $43 |

There are 48 Level 2 electric vehicle charging stations on its first four floors, and [reserved parking](https://ordairportguide.com/parking/reserved-parking/) sits on Level 2 for a $10 daily fee on top of the parking charge.

Construction changes the walk. The airport says to enter the terminal by the bridge on the south side of the garage’s first level, next to the elevator lobby. From Lot D, use the pedestrian entry on the north side of the garage. For vehicle trouble, a booted car or a stay over 30 days, call the Parking Garage Office at (773) 686-7530.

## Leaving Terminal 5 for the other terminals

The [Terminal Transfer Bus](https://ordairportguide.com/transport/terminal-transfer-bus/) leaves from Gate M13 every 15 minutes between 11:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. for Terminals 1 and 3, and you need a boarding pass for a same-day flight from the terminal you’re riding to. At other hours, and for any traveler who isn’t connecting, the [Airport Transit System](https://ordairportguide.com/transport/airport-transit-system/) is the way, and you clear a TSA checkpoint at the far end.

## Information desk and checking in

The airport lists an information desk near Gate M15, an upper-level lobby desk near Doors 5C and 5D and a lower-level lobby desk. Weekday hours at the gate desk are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The weekend hours split by page: Travelers Aid says 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and the terminal accessibility page says 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Delta, Frontier Airlines, Sun Country Airlines and WestJet check in on the Departures and Check-In level, as do Air France, KLM, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines and every other airline on our [airlines page](https://ordairportguide.com/airlines/) that lists Terminal 5. Delta also has self service kiosks and curbside check-in.
